There hasn't been an advancement in power tools that is more ubiquitous than cordless power. Battery operated tools provide convenience for all trades. Batteries have allowed work to get done on job sites and locations without power, to reach places that corded tools won't allow, and flexibility to swap batteries between tools to power equipment we never thought possible.

Buffers / polishers are a category of tools where the cord is extra annoying. Walking around a vehicle / object being polished while wrangling a cord or risking it dragging across the surface you are working on is frustrating.

Who is this CRAFTSMAN (CMCE100B) buffer/polisher for?

Based on the reviews for this CRAFTSMAN tools, this is more of a DIYer tool. The build quality isn't durable enough for professional use and the light tough required to keep the OPMs up may not do the job for some applications.

For only $34 though, this CRAFTSMAN polisher / buffer is a good deal if you have compatible CRAFTSMAN 20V batteries.
