Tariff Price Pressure: Milwaukee Tools Just Got More Expensive

Published April 26, 2025

Slice Hardware tracks the prices of popular power tool brands. Last year, we saw the drop in battery prices, as the cost of lithium dropped. Retailers passed this savings onto customers in different ways, including straight drop in prices, bundle incentives, and BOGO offers. The opposite is happing now with tariff price pressure.

This year, as anticipated for the last few months, tariffs have put pressure on manufactures who source materials from outside the United States. Updates on tariffs have already created swings in stock prices, as noted by ToolGuyd here.

The first power tool company we’ve seen introduce sweeping price increases is Milwaukee Tools. We first noticed these sweeping changes in our price change report. It’s rare that we don’t see any sales for a brand, but only see red (price increases).

Below are the impact bare tools that we track. We haven’t dug in to see how these increases might impact prices of pre-packaged tool kits or bundle deals from Home Depot or Ace Hardware.

Home Depot seems to have taken the approach of offsetting the impact of price increases with promotional incentives for buyers. As can be seen in Slice Hardware’s special buy tracker, there are a lot of Milwaukee Tool offers right now. Only time will tell if these promos are a clever coverup that will keep buyer demand high or if buyer behavior will change long-term.
