Jobsite Coffee Made Easy: The Go-To Gear for Construction Crews
Published March 25, 2025If you’re out working early mornings on a cold jobsite, there’s nothing better than a hot cup of coffee. Sure, you could grab gas station coffee, but it’s not always great—and it adds up fast. A lot of tradespeople are now bringing their own gear to make coffee right on site. And honestly? It’s pretty awesome.
After asking around and doing some digging, the best setup we’ve found is using the Jetboil Zip Camping Stove to heat your water and the Stanley Perfect Brew Pour Over to make the coffee. It’s a simple combo that works even in tough conditions. No electricity needed. No fancy machines. Just good coffee and solid gear.
An alternative to the pour over attachment is to use a French press coffee maker after you boil the water. Yeti makes a French press, that gives you the functionality of a French press coffee maker with the insulation to keep the coffee hot that Yeti has perfected.
Why This Setup Works
Construction and carpentry workers need tools that are tough, easy to use, and fast. This combo checks all the boxes:
- The Jetboil Zip is a small, gas-powered stove that boils water fast. Super fast. We’re talking two minutes for a cup.
- The Stanley Pour Over is made from stainless steel, so it can take a beating. No paper filters needed—it has a reusable metal filter.
- Bonus: Yeti just dropped their Rambler Pour Over, which looks cool and feels solid too. It’s definitely one to watch, but Stanley still wins for now in terms of price and simplicity.

What You’ll Need:
- Jetboil Zip stove + fuel canister
- Stanley Perfect Brew Pour Over
- Ground coffee (medium grind, like sea salt)
- Water (clean, fresh—about 16 oz)
- Your favorite mug
- Spoon (or stick—no judgment)
Steps:
- Fill the Jetboil with water – about 16 ounces (2 cups).
- Start the Jetboil and let it heat up. Water usually boils in under 2 minutes.
- Scoop 2 tablespoons of coffee into the Stanley Pour Over. (Want it stronger? Add more.)
- Place the Pour Over on your mug. Make sure it’s sitting steady.
- Slowly pour the hot water over the grounds in circles. Go slow—don’t flood it.
- Let the water drip through, then add more until all the water’s used.
- Stir, sip, and enjoy. You earned it.
Cleanup’s easy too. Dump the grounds, rinse the filter, and you’re good for the next round.
If you’ve got a solid thermos, like a Yeti or Stanley vacuum bottle, you can even brew a second cup and keep it hot for later. Some crews are starting to bring a small setup like this and take turns making a “brew run” instead of a coffee run.
No matter how you do it, having fresh, hot coffee out on site just makes the day better. And with this setup, you can have great coffee in minutes—without leaving the job.
